Herman, Irene Ann
Irene Ann Herman, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on the morning of Nov. 6, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center. There will be a Celebration of Life for Irene at Healthy Happenings located at 3200 16th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Irene was born in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 15, 1934. She graduated from Wilson High School and was employed by Rockwell for 39 years. After retirement Irene worked for the school system in the cafeteria.
Irene has two children, Robert of Cedar Rapids and Lea Ann, who preceded her in death. Irene was also preceded in death by her mother, Emma; father, Joseph; brother, Gary; and sister, Dorothy.
Irene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Melissa Herman Schechinger, Jeremiah Herman and Conner Herman; and her great-grandchildren, Austin, Seth, Mariah and Sarah. Irene has three siblings who survived her, Donny, Ruth and Steve.
In lieu of flowers, there has been a memorial account set up in Irene's honor at Collins Community Credit Union: Memorial for Irene Herman.
