Herbert John Heinen, 66, of the Philippines, formerly of Guernsey, died Thursday, July 21, 2016, in the Philippines.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Masonic Community Center in Belle Plaine from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be July 28 in Balibago, Angeles, Philippines.
Survivors include his wife, Yen Heinen; his children, Lisa Vranek (Jim) and Tonya Heinen; brothers, Howard Heinen (Arlene) and Harlen Heinen (Stacy); sister, Harriet Longnecker (Don); grandkids, Krystol Andrews, Regina Andrews, Brittany Uhl, Austin Vranek, Laura Johnson and Tyler Johnson; and seven great-grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merril and Mildred Heinen; and a great-grandson, Shayd.
Herbert was born in Guernsey, Iowa, and graduated from BGM. He retired in 1990 from the U.S. Air Force.
