Hensch, Bonnie Geane
Funeral services for Bonnie Geane Hensch, 80, of Tipton, who died Friday, April 15, 2011, will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Pastor Timothy Jones will be officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. today. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Bonnie was born May 3, 1930, in Wheatland, Iowa, the daughter of George Mickle and Emma Marie (Peters) Stankee. On June 18, 1950, Bonnie was united in marriage to Harold Ernest Hensch in Wheatland. Bonnie was employed by Super Value, Family Foods, Louis Rich, Jameson Corp. and retired in the mid-1980s from Carol Anderson's Bridal Boutique.
She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, MOCA and the American Legion Auxiliary. Bonnie enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Bible School. She spent her time volunteering for the VA, fish fries, Masonic meals and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Bonnie is loved and survived by her husband, Harold Hensch of Tipton; daughter, Sheryl (Steve) Yerington of Tipton; son, Harold (Kathy) Hensch of Humboldt; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Whitmer of Clinton; and longtime friends, Jerry and Betty Morris of Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donnie and wife Gilene and Cliff and wife Marilyn; infant sister, Nadean; and brother-in-law, Frank Whitmer.
Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice, Cedar Manor and the Tipton Ambulance in memory of Bonnie.
