Henry C. Hoppe passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, of a sudden illness. He was 87 years old. Hank was born Dec. 4, 1928, in the Amana Colonies area, the son of Betty Hoppe.
He was a great storyteller and enjoyed sharing his many experiences. His deep quest for learning led to many fruitful hours spent in our libraries. He avidly followed the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa State Cyclones.
Hank was truly a gem and always a pleasure to be around. He will be especially remembered for his zest for life and the sparkle in his eye. There was no other lunch companion like him! Hank was a good man with a kind soul.
A Visitation will be held at Teahen Funeral Home from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. A memorial service by Father Ivan Nienhaus will take place at 5 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.
