Henely, Todd Christopher

Todd Christopher Henely, 43, of Minneapolis, formerly of Iowa City, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, of natural causes. A memorial service to celebrate Todd's life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with the Rev. Barrie Tritle officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House or a charity of your choice.

Todd was born June 3, 1969, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the son of Harlan and Betty (Christensen) Henely. He was a graduate of Iowa City High School and received his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Iowa. Todd married Rachel Metz and they lived in Minneapolis, where he was a business analyst.

Todd was a proud father and loved his two children. He had an outgoing personality with a wonderful sense of humor. He liked to golf, fish, was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and loved his dogs, Haley, Snoopy and Woodstock.

Survivors include his daughter, Lauren, and his son, Trent, both of Minneapolis; his mother, Betty of Iowa City; his siblings, Craig (Kathy) Henely of St. Louis, Mo., and Tricia (Mike) Carson of Bloomington, Ill.; his niece, Anna, and nephew, Matt; his former spouse, Rachel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Todd was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
