Henderson, William 'Bill'
William “Bill” Henderson, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Memorial gathering: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and military rites by American Legion Post 727.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna Coghlan Henderson of Cedar Rapids; children, Shawna (Matt) Matheny, Bryan (Lindsey) Henderson and Ryan “Chico” (Christina) Henderson, all of Cedar Rapids; two stepchildren, Angela Coghlan and Amy Coghlan, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Elizabeth “Lizzy,” Rebecca, Paige, Austin, Timothy, Olivia, Elizabeth, Qwinton and Meleah; a special niece, Keri; father, William D. Henderson Sr. of Green valley, Ariz.; siblings, Dennis Henderson of Phoenix, Ari., and Peggy (Buck) Schneider of Cedar Rapids; and his friend and mother of his children, Dorcas Henderson of Cedar Rapids
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn.
Bill was born March 30, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, son of William Sr. and Evelyn (Woosley) Henderson. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bill married Dianna (Coghlan) Rich on Aug. 3, 2013.
He was a former member of the Eagles Club “Jesters” known as Willie Lump the Clown. Bill worked as a truck driver for 40 years. He liked to go bowling, golfing, fishing and most of all spend time with his family.
