Henderson, Emery L.
Emery L. Henderson, 88, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Central City, passed peacefully Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009. He was a loyal friend and trail advocate in Arizona.
Emery was also the consummate horse trainer, some say he was the horse whisperer long before that term ever became popular. Emery was a World War II veteran who received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He will be remembered for his ability to make people feel welcome to his small ranch home.
Emery had a tremendous faith in God and lived a full life in the presence of the Lord.
Emery is survived by his devoted wife Betty, who lovingly cared for Emery during his illness, as he had cared for her all of their 65 wonderful years together.
Additionally, he is survived by two sons, two daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous “adopted kids.”
