Henderson, Betty J.
Betty J. Henderson, 83, of Maquoketa, died unexpectedly Monday morning, July 12, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, from the United Church of Christ in Maquoketa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Coggon, Iowa Cemetery.
Betty Jean Newman was a graduate of Center Point High School, where she was class salutatorian. She married John E. Henderson on Nov. 26, 1949, in Center Point.
Betty is survived by her children, Dr. Kent (April) Henderson DVM of St. Albans, Vt., Lynn (Judy) Henderson of St. Louis, Mo., and Marcia (Jim) Borel of West Chester, Pa.; six grandchildren, Grant (Dr. Heather) Henderson Ph.D., Laura Henderson, David Borel, Bethany Borel, Ellyn Henderson and Eric Henderson; and one great-grandson, Archer Henderson.
