Hemann, Donna M.
Donna M. Hemann, 77, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, died there early Monday, Aug. 29, 2011. Funeral services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William Harnish. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral chapel. Family Graveside services: Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City.
Donna is survived by three children, Jim Hemann and wife Roxanne, Larry Hemann and wife Jill, and Connie Smith, all of Cedar Rapids; a brother, DeWayne Kruger and wife Elizabeth of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; parents, William and Dorothy Kruger; two sisters; and one brother.
Donna was born March 26, 1934, in Riceville, and moved from Osage to Cedar Rapids in 1955. She married Eugene E. Hemann on June 5, 1952, in Osage. Eugene died on Aug. 14, 1974. Donna had been an assembly line worker at Collins Radio Co. and later was employed as a nurse's aid until her retirement. She was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Donna loved to go fishing and play bingo.
A memorial fund has been established in Donna's name.
