Helming, Norma J.
Norma J. Helming, 76, of La Crescent, Minn., passed away at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011.
She was born July 12, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Norman and Blanch (Gibson) Sheldon. She married Kenneth Helming in Cedar Rapids on Jan. 1, 1955. Norma truly was a people person and will be dearly missed by the people whose lives she touched over the years.
In addition to her husband, Ken of La Crescent, she is survived by her son, Mark Hayward (Nancy Johnson) Helming of La Crosse, Wis.; her daughters, Minda Anne (Daniel) Hesselberg of Onalaska, Wis., and Melissa Jane (Rickie) Neumann of Mauston, Wis., granddaughter, Sarah Jean (Eli Hershberger) Helming-Olson of Mabel, Minn.; great-grandson, Jackson David Hershberger of Mabel, Minn.; and one sister, Martha (Homer) Buck of Mesa, Ariz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant twin brother, Norman.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 1. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Cedar Rapids.
