HELEN MCCAULEY

Helen Maxine Packard McCauley, of Johnston, responded to God's call to join Him in Heaven on Sept. 13, 2016. Helen was born on June 22, 1925, in Ankeny, Iowa.
The shy schoolteacher met the man of her dreams after the war in McGregor, where they married in 1947 at St. Mary's Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norbert Cyrus McCauley, who passed away in 1979; her eldest son, Bruce McCauley; and a grandson, Thomas Norbert McCauley.
She was surrounded by her loving family at her departure. Surviving children are Mary Beth Blake (Ron), Mark McCauley (Mary), Jay McCauley (Kirsten), Patty McCauley (Terry Ozbun), Kathryn McCauley and Kevin McCauley. She was the adored grandmother of 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.
