Helen Mae Wieben was born May 30, 1934, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Florence (Sawyer) Brandt. Helen married Dennis Gayle Wieben on Feb. 19, 1955, at the Geneseo United Methodist Church; he preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2013.
Helen passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepmother, Irene; father- and mother-in-law, Linn and Bernice Wieben; brothers, Howard and Harold Brandt; a sister, Alice Werning; and a niece, Diane Hutchins. Helen is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Steven) Bruce of Vinton; three sons, Michael (Wendy) Wieben of Clutier, Mitchell (Barbara) Wieben of Clutier and Yves (Agnes) Montoille, France; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a little girl due in August; five stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale (Barbara) Brandt of Green Bay, Wis., and Jack (Joy) Brandt of Golden, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Russell Werning of Newhall, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart, the Dysart Museum or Cedar Valley Hospice.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 13, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart and an hour before service.
Services will be Sunday, March 14, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. Masks will be available, but are optional.
