Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 5th at 1 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Helen was born on October 3, 1929, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Alta (Garrison) Cochran. She graduated from Montour High School in 1946. Helen was united in marriage to Elmer A. Fehrle on January 18, 1953, in State Center, Iowa. Over the years, Helen worked at a variety of places including Sears, Montgomery Wards, Medical Arts, and the Jefferson High School cafeteria. Elmer and Helen both worked extremely hard in the family business Fehrle Trucking until their retirement. Elmer and Helen were fortunate to take two trips to Hawaii together. She also enjoyed the family dog and completing word searches. Helen will be greatly missed, but we are grateful to know that she and Elmer are together again.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty (Harry) Hale of Marion; granddaughters, Tarra (Nick) Rowley and Brooke (Patrick) Flannagan; great-grandchildren, Braxton (Emma), Maddox, Harper, and Beckett; several nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Cindy Vuper who was especially close to Helen.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Elmer in 2019; two brothers, Donald and Keith Cochran; and a sister, Ruth Moffet.
“The family would like to give a special thank-you to Hospice of Mercy, especially the Hospice House staff, for the wonderful care given to Helen.”
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy.
