Helen M. Jacobus, 86, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A celebra-tion of Helen's life will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Mon-day, Sept. 28, at Salem United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Grave- side services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Raetz Cemetery, rural Atkins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Helen was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Atkins, the daughter of Nicholas and Sylvia (Grimm) Schueler. On Sept. 18, 1947, she married Frederick W. Jacobus in Benton County. Helen was a homemaker and was very active at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Atkins and the Ladies Guild.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Joellen) Jacobus of Cedar Rapids, Doreen (Bob) Jones of Independence, Ron (Shareen) Jacobus of Shellsburg and Larry Jacobus of Atkins; nine grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and her brother, Russell Schueler of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, in 1987; her daughter-in-law, Lynn Jacobus; two grand-children; six sisters and three brothers.
