Helen Elaine Griffin, 92, of Iowa City, passed away Dec. 1, 2016, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service to celebrate Helen's life will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City, with Father Steve Witt officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Iowa City Hospice.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Charles N. Griffin of Iowa City and William P. (Bonnie) Griffin of Clinton; six grandchildren, Heather, Chad, Nicole, Elaina, Kimberly and Terry; 11 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Keirstyn, Sydney, Drake, Kara, Aven, Tanner, Damon, Madilynn, Carley and Mandy; four great-great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kobe, TaLeah and Tiahna; her sister, Gertrude Fuhrmeister; and numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Charles Evans; and her sisters, Edith Dahnke and Fern Kobes.
