Helen Fisher went home to meet the Lord on Dec. 1, 2018. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with visitation one hour prior.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie (Timothy) Brooks, Lucian Young III, Michael (Juanita) Young, Marilyn Denise Young, Albert Fisher Jr. and Darnell Fisher; siblings, Atlee Warren, Edna Honore, Linda Petty, George Warren, Sandra (Herman) Walker and Kenneth Warren; favorite aunt, Iola Davis; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born to Charles Brooken and Ethel Matthews on May 21, 1941, Helen lived in Chicago most of her life. She married and raised a family with Lucian Young Jr. and then Albert Buchanan Fisher, both of whom preceded her in death. Helen was quick to laugh. She was a fan of wrestling, enjoyed bingo, gin rummy and watching her favorite shows. She was kind and free-spirited and a great mother.
Helen was preceded in death by her husbands, Lucian and Albert; her parents, Charles and Ethel; and siblings, Gilbert Warren, Florida Warren, Alfreda Holiday, Deborah Warren, Julia Mae Warren and Regina Warren.
