Helen R. Bouse, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Cottage Grove Place. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Helen was born April 9, 1925, in Perry, Iowa, to John and Alice (Downing) O'Malley. She was united in marriage to Jack Bouse on Feb. 19, 1949, in Topeka, Kan. To this union, two children were born.
Helen was a longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She enjoyed golfing and she was a skilled bridge player. She served as president of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by two children, Beth (Jim) Payne of Cedar Rapids and John (Mary) Bouse of La Grange, Ill.; three grandchildren, Charles (Susi) Bouse, Anne Bouse and Theodore Payne; one great-granddaughter, Emilia Bouse; sister, Patricia Coats of Bella Vista, Ark.; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister, Mary Alice Robinson.
Memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
