Heister, Judith Ann (Neilsen)
Judith Ann (Neilsen) Heister, 73, of Waubeek, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City, by the Rev. Vicki Engelmann. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Morgan; four children, Debra (Stephen) Welter of Coggon, Linda (Cletus) Lawrence of Central City, Kathy Remling of Prescott, Ariz., and Paul Shaffer Jr. of Marion; three stepchildren, Sherry Parrott of Princeton, Ark., Michael Heister of Rowley and Tonya Heister of Eugene, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Delores Neilsen of Waubeek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Michael Clark; a granddaughter; and her brother, James Raymond Neilsen.
Judith was born Oct. 28, 1939, the daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Gage) Neilsen in Iowa City, Iowa. On Aug. 5, 1990, she married Morgan Heister in Cedar Rapids. Judith worked at St. Luke's Hospital, Farmstead, and the Abbe Center.
Her hobbies included crafts; she loved beadwork and painting, gardening, and flowers.
