Hebert, Terry Ray
Terry Ray Hebert, 61, of Palo, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Military Honors by Palo American Legion Post 679. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; son, Jason (Jennifer) Hebert of Palo; daughters, Heather (Tim) Smith of Olin and Jennifer (Justin Salyars) Cady of Palo; grandchildren, Zachary, Keegan, Lucas, Jacob, Dayton, Terresa and Deelo; and sister, Tina (Terry) Nemecek of Cedar Rapids.
Terry was born Sept. 17, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Lonnie and L. Darlene (Pruitt) Hebert. He graduated from Springville Community High School in May 1971. Terry served in the U.S. Navy (1971-1975) and the U.S. Army Reserve (1976-1978, 1981-1988). On June 13, 1995, he married Kathy Wilson. He was a member of the security force at the Duane Arnold Energy Center from 1981-2012.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. Terry loved everything about cars, especially hot rods and building motors.
He treasured his grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy Hebert; and great-grandmother, Larinda Hebert.
