Heather Woodhouse passed away at home on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at First Lutheran Church. Pastor Steve Knudson will preside.
Heather Woodhouse was born Nov. 20, 1968, to Charles F. and Martha Lane (Patton) Woodhouse in Clifton Forge, Va. She grew up in Wilton, Va., and graduated from high school in Cape Cod, Mass.
As a child, she had a head of blonde curls and was remembered as a sweet happy child. She loved animals and the family had a number of horses of which she especially spent her time. As an adult, Heather was always taking animals into her home.
After high school, Heather moved to Iowa and lived in Cedar Rapids. Heather enjoyed time with friends. She welcomed a diabetes care dog into her life 18 months ago; a husky with the name Sabrina or Bri, who became a constant companion.
Heather met the challenges of life with fierce independence. Deep in her heart, she was a caring and compassionate person.
