Heather Sue Lukes, 38, formerly of Belle Plaine, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at the Marengo Memorial
Hospital following a prolonged illness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, with the Rev. Jim Davis presiding. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date.
She is survived by her husband, James; son, Dalton, at home; father, Steve (Sharon) Schwab of Belle Plaine; mother, Sheryl Schwab of Belle Plaine; brothers, Jeffrey (Vicky) Schwab of Cedar Rapids, Jami (Lori) Schwab of Grinnell and Chad (Lindsay) Schwab of Wheatland; sister, Christie (Trevor) Hawkins of Belle Plaine; stepbrother, Rod (Judy) Long of Toledo; stepsister, Theresa Long (and friend Scott Fredrickson) of South Amana; brothers-in-law, Steven (Sherry) Lukes of Middle Amana and Justin (Rachel) Lukes of Hiawatha; father- and mother-in-law, Dennis and Lois Lukes of Homestead; stepgrandmother, Edna Carter of Belle Plaine; and special cat, Simba.
