Heather Heim, 37, of Marion, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Memorial gathering: 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Gospel Light Baptist Church, Marion. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Kip Morrow. The family encourages attendees to wear purple. Private committal service will take place at a later date.
Heather is survived by her mother, Christy Heim of Marion; father, Tim (Kathy) Heim of Marion; daughter, Jada Nicole Heim of Marion; fiance, Brandon Smith; brother, Jeremy (Amanda) Heim; nieces, Lily and Hazel Heim; grandmother, Alice Heim; godparents, Ron Heim and Donna Hager; special friends, Bunny and Crista; and many aunts, uncles and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Norma Petersen and Donald Heim.
Heather was born Aug. 9, 1979, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Tim Heim and Christy Heim. She graduated from Marion High School in 1998. Heather enjoyed church, children, swimming, doing crafts, playing card games, watching the Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys, and going to her favorite thrift shop, Horse Falls, in Lansing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Heather's memory.
