Heath, Joan
Joan Heath, 86, of Anamosa, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at the Anamosa Care Center. Friends and family may call at the home of Robert and Gwen Fuller on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Joan Heath was born in Washington, Iowa, on Aug. 5, 1923, to Thomas and Naomi Gerdes. She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing and did private duty nursing in New York City during World War II. She retired in 1982 after 20 years as an RN at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; and a brother, Claire.
Joan is survived by three children, Gwen Fuller of Anamosa, Thomas Michael Heath of Mount Vernon and Pat Weaver of Janesville, Wis.; three grandchildren, Jeannette Smock of Lisbon and Rachel and Curtis Weaver, both of Janesville, Wis.; and two sisters, Winifred Polis of Washington, Iowa and Esther Livingston of Lititz, Pa.

Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family.
