Hazen, Marjorie K.

Marjorie K. Hazen, 89, of Milan, Ill., formerly of East Moline, passed away Saturday July 9, 2011, at her home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3300 24th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

Marjorie was born on Jan. 22, 1922, in Moline, the daughter of Otto and Louisa Mae (Dunsmore) Klockau. She married Henry A. Hazen on Nov. 16, 1945 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1992.

Marjorie was a graduate of the former Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at several hospitals and nursing homes as a registered nurse.

Mrs. Hazen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she has been active in the Ladies Society, Board for Mission Services and past corporate secretary. She participated in the Senior Olympics Track and Field and for 15 years in the Great Cardboard Boat Regatta.

Survivors include her sons, Myron Hazen, Milan, John (Mary) Hazen, East Moline, and Keith (Angela) Hazen, Vinton; grandchildren, Todd Hazen, Kimberly Woolf, Nicole Weaver, Matthew Hazen, Nathan Hazen, Casandra Hazen and Hunter Hazen; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hayley, Emily Hazen, Zachary, Nathan, Kaiden Woolf and Natalie Joy Hazen.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie Hazen; special friend, Dr. Robert Goodell; and birth mother, Marguerite Malmstrom Pascoe.
