Hazeltine, Luella A.
Luella A. Hazeltine, 80, of Toddville, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Crestview Acres, Marion. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Chris Turner from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses will officiate with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Hazeltine of Toddville; one brother, James (Shirley) Heath of Marion; a brother-in-law, Owen Strickel of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Luella was born Dec. 21, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ralph and Flossie (Monson) Heath. She married Gerald L. Hazeltine on August 15, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. She retired from Quaker Oats in 1991, after 41 years. After her retirement, Luella enjoyed photography and spent the next decade photographing round barns in Iowa. She authored a book “Barns Around Iowa,” which highlighted the round barns she photographed. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Cedar Rapids.
