Hazel M. Rahn, 95, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Heritage Care Initiatives, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be at a later date at Clarence City Cemetery, Clarence, Iowa.
Hazel was born September 8, 1922, in Stanwood, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Mabel (Long) Rotert. She graduated from Viola High School. During her varied career, she worked at Globe Machinery, Newell Machinery and Armstrong's Department Store. Hazel was a member of VFW Auxiliary 788 and Moose Auxiliary 515, and a past president of American Legion Hanford Unit 5. She loved to dance, play bingo, listen to music and volunteer at the Legion.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mabel; daughter, Beverly Davis; and her two sisters, Roberta Rotert and Jean Sievers.
