Havlik, Lucille
Lucille Havlik, 91, of Coggon, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at United Parish Church, Coggon, by Pastor Jen Filter. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Coggon Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Lee (Kathy) Havlik of Marshalltown; her sister, Mary Ann Stricker of Frankfort, Ill.; and niece, Linda Stricker of Frankfort, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lumir; and brother, Eugene Rafson.
Lucille was born July 18, 1918, in Chicago, to Theodore and Christine (Schmidt) Rafson. She was married to Lumir Havlik on July 18, 1943, in Norfolk, Va. Lumir died June 1, 1994. Lucille was a member of United Parish Church, Red Hatters, Quilt Club and the China Paint Club.
Lucille's family would like to thank all her friends and neighbors who helped her; the workers at Pro Build who helped her with her home; Dr. Marc Wilkinson; and all the wonderful staff of Mercy Medical Center and Mercy Hospice.
A memorial fund has been established in Lucille's memory.
