Haverly, Doris M.
Doris M. Haverly, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church, by the Rev. David O'Connor. Inurnment: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where a vigil will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Elmer; her children, Ron, MaryAnn, Janet and Karen; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David; a daughter, Kathy Jo; and granddaughter, Shannon.
Doris was born May 23, 1928, in Bloomer, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Catherine Kunesh Marek. She married Elmer Haverly there on May 6, 1947. Doris was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and volunteered over 4,000 hours at Mercy Medical Center. She was an avid reader, Packer fan and a card player. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family.
