Hathaway, Margaret Ellen
Margaret Ellen Hathaway, 58, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha, by the Rev. Mark Ressler. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Hathaway; her children, Jill Ellen (Shane) Wheeler of Van Meter, James (Rebecca) Hathaway of Ankeny, Kevin Hathaway of Windsor Heights and Angela (Brendan) Moehn of Liberty, Mo.; her father, Roger Homer of Iowa City; her siblings, Mark (Joanne) Homer of Napa, Calif., Melinda Widen of Long Beach Island, N.J., Mary (Steve) Nachazel of Iowa City and Molly Homer of Macomb, Ill.; and her grandchildren, Lexie Hathaway, Evie Wheeler, Amelia Hathaway and Finn Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annette Homer.
Margaret was born Sept. 23, 1954, in California, the daughter of Roger and Annette (Dingman) Homer. She married Jeffrey Hathaway on June 23, 1979, in Ames, Iowa. Margaret worked for the Cedar Rapids Library for 20 plus years as a librarian. She was a graduate of Ames High School. She received her bachelor's degree from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame and her master's degree from the University of Iowa.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.
