Hasselbusch, Helen
Helen Hasselbusch, 94, of Clarence, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at the Clarence Nursing Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with Rev. David Mears officiating. Burial will be at St. John's church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
She was born in Clarence on Oct. 28, 1915, the daughter of Robert Kelly and Pearl Baughman Kelly. She was united in marriage to Melvin Hasselbusch on Dec. 4, 1937, in her parents' home in Clarence. Melvin died in 2007.
Helen was a 1933 graduate of Clarence High School and attended Coe College. She was a member of St. John's Church where she had taught Sunday school and belonged to Womens' Fellowship. She also had been a 4-H leader for 10 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Bill) Leighty of Tipton; son, Robert (Arlynn) Hasselbusch of Clarence; two grandsons, Mike (Tina) Hasselbusch of German Town Hills, Ill. and Eric (Andrea) Hasselbusch of Lisbon; five great-granddaughters, Emily, Olivia, Renae, Nicole and Kaitlynn; and sister, Dorothy Emmons of Clarence.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
