HARVEY DEAN TIELBUR

Harvey Dean Tielbur, son of Harco and Golda (Kruckman) Tielbur, was born Oct. 12, 1934, on a farm in Palo Alto County. He received his education at Cornell through the 10th grade and finished high school through the military in Nogoya, Japan. He entered the military in 1953 and served in the Marines until his honorable discharged in 1956.
On July 2, 1956, Harvey was united in marriage to Kathleen Mary Schulze in Minnesota. He was employed as a meat packer and floor supervisor for Spencer Foods and Caldwell Pack for 32 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Spencer American Legion. Harvey enjoyed fishing, doing handyman work, painting, snow removal, going to the casino, gardening and canning. He especially enjoyed being a father and spending time with his family.
Harvey passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 81. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spencer. Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Spencer. Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, is handling arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas; brothers: Delbert, Eldon and Ervin; and one sister, Delores Nims.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathleen of Spencer; one son, Timothy Tielbur of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Linda Ragland and Lisa (Loc) Nguyen, both of Sergeant Bluff; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary (Sible) Tielbur of Sioux Rapids; one brother-in-law, Orville Stephas of Spencer; three sisters-in-law, Patricia (Edward Jr.) Stonacek of Clarkson, Neb., Mable Tielbur of Spencer and Jean Tielbur of Pitsburg, Ohio; and other relatives and many friends.
