Harvey Laverne Olsen, 72, of Lansing, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Living Center East nursing home, Cedar Rapids.
He was born Jan. 25, 1943, to Berger and Jeannette (Johnson) Olsen in Lansing, Iowa. Harvey graduated in 1962 from Eastern Allamakee High School. He was united in marriage with Shirley Burns in 1964. Three children were born to this union. Harvey worked as a custodian for Lansing schools for over 30 years.
Harvey is survived by his children, Pam Clark of Milwaukee, Wis., Pat (Cathy) Olsen of Cedar Rapids and Kevin (Carol) Olsen of Wauzeka, Wis.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mildred Bechtel of Lansing, Elmer (Charlotte) Olsen of Cedar Rapids, Alfred Olsen of Waukon, Eleanor Thorpe of Cedar Rapids, Leroy (Shirley) Olsen of Marshalltown and Jim (Jan) Olsen of Lowden.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Berger and Jeannette Olsen; and brothers, Joseph and Floyd Olsen.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing.
