Hartson, Betsy L.
Betsy L. Hartson, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness, surrounded by her family. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. Craig Bex of Edgewood Family Fellowship. Private family inurnment at a later date.
Survivors include her children, Cindy (Stan) Chamberlain, Sheri Langton, Randy (Michelle) Hook, Christie (Jim) Peterson, Jeff Hook, Rick (Jenny) Hook, Michelle (Sean Janssen) Jeffords and Jacob Hartson; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marilyn Stander, Randy Newton, Terri Newton, Dixie Dellamuth and Brenda Meier; and many nieces and nephews.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susan; first husband, John Hook; second husband, Jerry Hartson; grandson, Angel; and great-granddaughter, Savannah.
Betsy Lou Hartson was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Blairstown, the daughter of Lester and Eunice (Pearson) Newton. She worked at Wilson Foods for several years and also as a rehabilitation counselor. Betsy was a great painter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
