Hartgrave, Irene
Irene Hartgrave, 93, of Walford, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester following a short illness. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bill Harnish officiating. Burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Irene G. Hartgrave was born Oct. 26, 1919, to Laurel and Josephine Kroul Gerard in Iowa County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Clarence Hargrave on Dec. 2, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa. He passed away in 1999. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family but most importantly all of her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Marvin) Houser of Walford and Dona (Merle) Robinson-Pierce of Manchester; two sisters, Mary Ruth (Dwayne) Brecht of Marengo and Midge Alberts of Amana; brother-in-law, Robert Hargrave of Fairfax; two sisters-in-law, Betty Craddock and Frances Porter both of Vinton; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; son-in-law, Gary Robinson; granddaughter, Tami Robinson; parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
