Hartbeck, Earline E.
Earline E. Hartbeck, 84, of Manchester, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the United Methodist Church in Manchester by the Rev. Roger Henry. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Manchester. Additional visitation will be one hour before services Saturday at the church. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Earline was born July 29, 1926, in Dundee, the daughter of Roy and Mildred (Robinson) Morris. Earline worked for Scotty Milroy Loan Office, Allis-Chalmers, Rockwell Collins, Dyersville National Bank, and IBS Investments. On July 28, 1968, Earline was united in marriage to Calvin Hartbeck. The couple farmed near Colesburg for many years.
Earline was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church, was an UMW District officer, enjoyed church work and was part of the board to start the Colesburg Library. She was also a member of the Colesburg Book Club. Earline was an antique buff and enjoyed cats, her flower gardens and traveling at home and abroad.
Earline is survived by her husband of 42 years, Calvin Hartbeck of Manchester; three children, Sharon C. (Robert) Maiers of Manchester, Shirlene Lahr of Marion and Shane (Melody) Hilsenbeck of Carthridge, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Chris Taylor, Sherri Forkenbrock, Bob Maiers, Kim Huber, Mary Phillabaum, Vaughn Lahr, Verlynn Lahr, Greg Lahr, Caleb Hilsenbeck, Leah Hilsenbeck and Hannah Hilsenbeck; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Elaine Briggman of Manchester.
Earline was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mildred Morris.
A memorial fund is being established in Earline's name.
