Hart, Dorothy J.
Dorothy J. Hart, 93, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Sacramento after a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Jim Langley will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Survivors include a son, Thomas (Lori) Hart of Locust Grove, Okla.; and a daughter, Judy (Ron) Shadman of Sacramento. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Julie Hoffman and Cindy Clark; four great-grandchildren; and one niece, Jean Williams of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Vivian Williams.
Dorothy was born Dec. 5, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of William and Stella Aston Ward. She married Raymond C. Hart on June 27, 1937, in Ottumwa. He died in 1980. Dorothy was a homemaker. She had a great sense of humor; enjoy cooking and baking. She was renowned for her delicious pies.
Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
