A memorial service for Harry A. Willey, 78, of Newark, Ohio, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main St., Newark. A visitation will be held prior to the service. Mr. Willey died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. He was born May 17, 1940, in Creston, Iowa.
Mr. Willey retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1988 after 28 years of service as a senior master sergeant. He was active in several Masonic lodge organizations.
He is survived by fiancee, Sharon Hickman; children, Bruce (Lynn) Willey, Duane (Jane) Willey, Lynn (Steve) Davis and Lisa (Eric) Scott; the mother of his children, JoAnn (Low) Willey; sisters, Carolann (Laura) Ewalt, Marcia (Melvin) Jenn, Tanya Wright, Charlotte Hull and Don Fabian; brothers, Earl (Linda) Hull and Louis Hull; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert; his father, Harry Franklin Willey; and his mother and stepfather, Annetta Ruth (Worden) and Everett "Shorty" Hull.
