Harry Thomas John “TJ” Hoffon, 83, passed away on Feb. 15, 2023, after battling cancer at Hospice of Mercy. Military services will be held at the American Legion from 2 to 4 p.m. June 14, at 68 3rd St., Swisher.
TJ was survived by his wife of 39 years, Christina; his daughter; three granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. As well as three children from a previous marriage.
Preceded in death by both of his parents, Helen and Harvey Hoffon.
TJ was born in Harrisburg, Pa., on Feb. 19, 1939. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1962-1967. After coming home from the Army, he resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He worked at Cargill for 35 years until retirement. During his spare time, he participated in bowling league for Cargill, enjoyed painting by numbers, ceramics, model cars, playing cards, watching football, basketball and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs.
