Harris, Marion T.
Marion T. Harris, 96, of Heritage Nursing and Rehab, died there Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from a short illness. Graveside services: 11:30 a.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Per Marion's request there will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two nieces, Anita (Louis) Gilbert of Cedar Rapids and Jackie Hyatt of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence.
Marion was born Aug. 13, 1913, in Decatur, Ill., the son of Robert and Elizabeth Burgener Harris. He married Florence Playle on July 1, 1938, in Newton. She died in 2008. Marion was a welding inspector at Harnischfeger and retired from there after more than 50 years of service.
He enjoyed Big Band music, gardening, tinkering with engines and his Cadillacs.
