Harris, Edith M.
Edith M. Harris, 59, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in her home.
She was born Jan. 2, 1953, to Maxine (Rich) and George Harris. Edie graduated from Mount Mercy College with an accounting degree. She was employed for many years by the U.S. Government in the IRS Department. She was an avid traveler covering every state in the union. Edie was a great fan of the Chicago Cubs attending many games with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and George Harris; and grandparents, Edith and Mervil Rich.
Survivors include her brother, Merwin Harris of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Neil Harris of Cedar Rapids and Mark Harris of Hastings, Neb.; and several aunts.
Funeral Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in her name to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, 7411 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
