Harold Wayne Waddell, 75, Mechanicsville, entered eternal rest March 15, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the memorial service immediately following. All friends and family are invited to attend a time of food and fellowship following the memorial service also at Fry's. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, following the fellowship time.
A memorial fund has been established.

Harold's life journey began on June 1, 1940, in Dexter, Iowa, where he was born to Lawrence and Violet (Bebout) Waddell. Harold was united in marriage to the love of his life, the late Dixie Waddell, in January 1962 in Lorimar, Iowa. Together they raised two boys, Marty and Terry.
Harold was employed with Cedar County as a maintainer operator for 27 years, until his retirement in the early 2000s.
Harold's wife and family brought him the most joy in his life. He had a quiet spirituality and enjoyed woodworking and gardening, fishing and camping, hunting and trapping.
Harold is survived by his sons, Marty (Karen) Waddell of Tipton and Terry (Patti) Waddell of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Larry; and sister, Rosalie.
