HAROLD M. GREASER Cedar Rapids Harold M. Greaser, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids. Private family inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date. Harold is survived by his sons, Douglas Greaser of Cedar Rapids and Gregg (Patty) Greaser of Hiawatha; three grandchildren, Michelle Hanke, Jeff Greaser and Kalli Hoben; great-grandson, Dylan Elliott; daughter-in-law, Trudy Greaser of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Margaret Greaser of Vinton; and a brother, Ray Greaser of Manchester. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna, in 2011; son, Gary Greaser, in 2015; and his siblings, Carl Greaser, Helen Walthart and Charlotte Caslavka. Harold was born June 13, 1920, in Vinton, Iowa, to Alfred and Anna (Martin) Greaser. He married Edna Johnson on Sept. 23, 1942, in Vinton. Harold proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He began working for Farm Service in Vinton and Walcott, then moved to Cedar Rapids in 1959 to work at Happel & Sons. He proudly retired from Paul's Discount store in Iowa City. Harold was a fan of the Iowa Hawk-eyes. He enjoyed farming as a young man and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. The family would like to thank all the staff and residents from Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center for their love, support and tender care given to Harold. The family requests no flowers. In Harold's honor, memorial donations may be directed to Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, 200 Clive Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
