Harold I. Gladwin Sr., 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
Harold Ivan Gladwin Sr. was born July 27, 1937, to
John and Ella Heck Gladwin in Iowa City, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Lorella May Boots in 1955. She passed away in 1990. Harold enjoyed fishing, gambling and watching races.
He is survived by his significant other, Mary Ann Heck; children, Herbert Gladwin (Chris Hack), Harold Gladwin Jr. (Tracy Williams), Pamela Curtis, Lorreca O'Neal Rieck (Dave Rieck), Taphney O'Neal Knott (Brad Knott), Shawn O'Neal, Lori Otto, Lora Gladwin, Brian Franks (Dawn Franks), Kevin Franks (Kim Franks), Becky Sportell and Patrick Heck; 27 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lorella Gladwin; son, David Gladwin; his parents, John and Sue Ella Gladwin; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Heath and Mason Eckward Blackwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Garment Designs, 1080 Lyons Lane, Marion, from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 3.
A memorial fund has been established.
