Harold Comried, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died at home Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Service, Cedar Rapids, with a vigil service
at 7:30 p.m. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children, Richard (Lynn) Comried, Linda (Stan) Karminski, Cheryl (Michael) O'Neill and Laura Comried; grandchildren, Brett (Kris), Angela (Nick), Katherine (Collin), Stanley (Melinda), Jessica, Stephanie (Thaddeus), Andrew, Marie and Jill (Jamin); and great- grandchildren, Natalee, Ashely, Ethan, Zander, Zayden, Zayla, Everleigh, Ezra and Khloe.
Also surviving are his siblings, Charlotte (Terry) Bruce, Kay Manu and Tim Comried; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Harold was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Andrew and Dolly (Edaburn) Comried. On March 30, 1952, he married Dorothy Gordon in Caledonia, Minn. He worked as a painter at Quaker Oats for 40 years. Harold enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing and traveling. His memberships include the Izaak Walton League and AFL-CIO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin Comried and Ernest Montgomery; sisters, Marilyn Long and Irene Cripe; and a granddaughter, Hailey O'Neill.
