Harold "Bud" R. Willis, 78, of Oelwein, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at Grandview Health Care Center, Oelwein. Funeral services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Cheri (Gary) Tallman, Gerri (Mike) Brownell, Dustin (Tara) Rambo, Ashley Willis, Carli Willis and Courtney Willis; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Jim) Hamblin; and many nieces and nephews.
Bud was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Iowa City, the son of Harold F. and Irene (Drahos) Willis. He worked as a CNC machinist at Cherry Burrell for many years. Bud enjoyed fishing, being outside and cooking on the grill. He will be remembered for his beautiful drawing and playing music with his guitar. He cherished time with his family and they will greatly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arlene Strait Courtney; and brothers, Jackie Willis and Leonard R. Willis.
