Jerry M. Harmel, 69, of Bennett, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, of natural causes at the Iowa Masonic
Health
Facility in Bettendorf. Funeral
services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Fry
Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial: Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jerry was born Sept. 1, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Edwin Henry and Marjorie Loretta Brannaman Harmel. He
attended Bennett High School and made his living as a farm machinery
implement dealer. On Aug. 29, 1964, he was united in marriage to Mariann Kaye Swenson in Calamus, Iowa.
He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren and friends.
Jerry will be remembered for his quick wit.
Surviving are his wife, Mariann of Bennett; daughter, Tonya (Lyle) Hermiston of Tipton; sons, Troy (Debbie) Harmel of Walcott and Todd Harmel of Bennett; grandchildren, Richlen Harmel, Laken, Connor and Carter Hermiston, Charlie Bernal and Kristina (Daniel) Judas; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Lexington; and brother, Robert (Sandra) Harmel of Tipton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and grandparents.
