HARLAN O. UTECHT

Harlan O. Utecht, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 25, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital. There will be a private family service at Cedar Memorial.
Survivors include his two daughters, Abby Utecht of Cedar Rapids and Amy (Nate) Lefebvre of Bloomington, Minn.; his mother, Carolyn Duffy of Cedar Rapids; an uncle, Harold (Diane) Klein of Arizona; his granddaughter, Helena Lefebvre; and his pet dog, Eleanor.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Sally Rance; and former wife, Julie Reihmann.
Harlan was born July 2, 1951, in Le Mars, the son of Oris and Carolyn Klein Utecht. He was a self-employed stockbroker in Cedar Rapids for many years. Harlan enjoyed classic rock music, going to the casino, action and mystery movies and especially the time spent with his beloved family. He was a wonderful son, father, grandfather and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
