Geri was born Feb. 9, 1964, to Harold and Ruth Anne Hargin in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended the ARC School, Hiawatha Elementary and graduated from Noelridge School. She enjoyed many summers at the ARC summer day camp, as well as visits to Camp Courageous. Geri also was an enthusiastic participant in Special Olympics. Geri always liked working and was a conscientious employee of Options of Linn County and AEGON.
Geri was a special gift from God with a loving, kind heart. She always greeted others with a warm, welcoming hug and a bubbly smile. An avid Cubs and Dallas Cowboys fan, she enjoyed reading the sports page and sharing her remarkable memory of player's names and statistics. She had a zest for life and made countless friends. Geri will be especially missed by her mother, as well as her housemates and staff at Discovery Living, where she resided the last 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1982.
Geri's family wishes to especially thank the staff at Discovery Living, Dr. Marc Wilkinson and staff, and Hospice of Mercy.
