Harger, Don. H.
Don H. Harger, 71, of Anamosa, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the 1 p.m. service at the funeral home. Private burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville, Iowa.
Survivors include a special friend of 20 years, Linda Cooper; son, Brian Harger; Jim (Barb) Cooper, Rick Cooper, Anita Parvin, Katherine (Warren) Hersom, and David Cooper; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, Arnold (Ruth Ann) Harger, Dorothy (Dick) Harger, Bonnie Harger, Carol Peterson, and Mary Ellen Harger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and David Harger; and an infant sister.
Don was born March 11, 1939, the son of Joseph and Mildred (Robinson) Harger, in Midway, Iowa. He married Patricia Elson. They later divorced. For the last 20 years, Don has been with his special friend, Linda Cooper. Don retired from Rockwell Collins after 33 years. Don's favorite hobby was drinking coffee with his friends at Happy Chef. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, boating and camping. Don also enjoyed computers, CB radios and woodworking.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Don's memory.
