Hardman, Deleva Hope
Deleva Hope Hardman, 85, of Oelwein, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of natural causes. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home and one hour before services Thursday at the church.
Survivors include four sons, Roger (Kim) Hardman of Cabot, Ark., Wesley Hardman of De Soto, Wis., Donald Hardman of Oelwein and Robert (Teri) Hardman of Knoxville; a daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Noe of Marion; four grandsons, Jeff, Ben, Drake and Ryan; four granddaughters, Jodi, Christina, Deandrea and Aubrey; and four great-grandchildren, Jaci, Madi, Elise and Nate.
She was preceded in deathy by her husband, Wayne on Aug. 7, 1994; her parents; a brother, Leone; daughter-in-law, Janice; and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
Deleva was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Aurora, Iowa, to Lloyd and Hattie (Weston) Brown. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1945. She married Joseph W. Hardman on Feb. 2, 1947, in Aurora, Iowa. She worked at Transfer & Storage Co. in Cedar Rapids, Durfey Store in Aurora and First National Bank in Oelwein, as well as a homemaker.
A memorial fund has been established in Deleva's name.
